2012
The Citat companies are Citat AB in Sweden, Citat Oy in Finland and Citat LLC in Ukraine.

Citat AB is one of the Nordic region’s biggest advertising and production agencies and has offices in Stockholm, Malmö and Gothenburg. Citat Oy is a digital communications agency in Helsinki.

Citat LLC functions as a digital and graphic production agency for the Citat companies. In Norway and Denmark, Citat has representation and a plan for continued growth and establishment.

Year 2012

In 2012, the overall market was characterized by limited growth, but there were also big differences between market segments. Traditional marketing communication declined whereas digital communication grew.

Citat companies’ profitability developed according to expectations. The companies’ sales were improved and organizations were renewed. The Nordic presence was strengthened by establishing a Nordic management team and co-operating more intensively over the country and team borders. Digital and mobile services grew most in 2012.

“After a few years of structural change, restructuring and weak profitability, the improvement in our result shows that we have done the right things,” Lundström says.

Year 2013

Lundström says that “2013 is a year of development. We will strengthen our Nordic presence and customer service by cooperating more intensively with our sister companies. We will develop our service offering focusing on more strategic marketing services and continue strengthening our digital services. We will invest in the development of new technology applications in marketing communication and continue focusing on multicultural communication.”

Citat AB

Citat AB specializes in planning, creating and introducing effective marketing communication. This includes concept development, campaigns, digital solutions, events, social media, action marketing, advertisements and high-quality print products.

The company is professional in localizing marketing communication throughout the Nordic region and globally. Over the years, Citat AB has insourced more than 10 in-house teams from customers, taking responsibility for their communications.

Customers are strong brands and large companies as well as organisations including Volvo, Pfizer, Nobel Biocare, Lantmännen, Västra Götalandsregionen, Apollo, SEB Kort, Scania, Tieto, Pensionsmyndigheten, Skandia, Rikspolisstyrelsen, Start-up Stockholm and SIDA.

“Our customers’ challenge is to close the gap between traditional marketing communication and new customer needs and behavior, usually in customer industries with a strong competitive environment,” Lundström says. “Our task is to help our customers succeed and reach their business goals.”

In 2012, the company had an average of 97 employees.

Citat Oy

About 90 percent of Citat Oy’s turnover in 2012 came from digital services. In 2012, the company reached its profitability goal. In 2013, the goal is to grow almost 20 percent.

Citat Oy plans and creates web services, web sites and web campaigns, social media communication, digital tools for sales, marketing and communication, presentations and animations and advertising (TV, radio, print, point-of-sale). The company also provides graphic and package design.

The company serves both business-to-consumer and business-to-business customers. The customers are principally companies operating in the Finnish market, for example Kärkimedia, Danske Bank, Fazer, Varma, Abbott and Oikotie.

“Our clients’ challenge is to reach their target audience with relevant content in the right environment,” says Heidi Gutekunst, who started as Citat Oy’s Managing Director at the beginning of 2012. “Customers are thinking about how and where they should interact with their target groups, how much of their communication should be done in digital environments and how can they measure and evaluate the activities to support their business goals.”

“It is challenging to identify and adopt new trends and potential opportunities. We have an excellent team, which will be expanded as we go for new big customer accounts. We also look forward to being a part of creating future ways of communicating, and influencing how and where we communicate in the future.”

In 2012, Citat Oy had an average of 22 employees. Citat Ukraine LLC had an average of 15 employees.
