Print & Distribution
The Business area comprises Edita Prima Oy in Finland and Edita Västra Aros AB, Sandvikens Tryckeri AB and an associate company Edita Bobergs AB in Sweden.
Print & Distribution provides versatile and efficient production services in print-related communication. The services cover pre-media, print, logistics and mailing and print management services.
The business area’s vision is to be the leading print and cross-media service provider in the Nordic region.
Customers are leading brands and large companies from many different industries as well as institutions from the public sector.
“Our customers are looking for improvements in efficiency concerning all their communications,” says Business Area Director Heikki Autio. “Today the market is full of multiple choices of communication channels. This has created a growing need for better – and easier – management of all communication. Marketing communications should be faster to start and easier to execute, and it should be simpler to measure their effectiveness.”
The traditional offset print market continued to diminish in Sweden and Finland. At the same time, there were clear growth signals in the segments of cross-media, targeted print, logistics and print management.
“The main goal was to renew the offering and to develop new services in order to better meet our customers’ expectations”, Autio says
Edita Prima did not meet its targets in the traditional sheet offset segment in 2012. In spite of this, the company managed to improve its operative profitability.
Edita Prima put a lot of effort into improving its service portfolio. This led to many successful new cross-media projects for customers. The customer survey which was carried out in December 2012 showed that the customers are very satisfied with Edita Prima.
In 2012, the company had an average of 187 employees.
Edita Västra Aros
After several good years, Edita Västra Aros experienced a difficult year 2012. Strong diminishing of the Swedish printing market led to decrease in the company’s turnover. Because of this, several rationalization actions and improvement programs were carried out during the second half of the year.
The company established a strategic partnership with Sandvikens Tryckeri AB in order to improve efficiency and create a new print management service company.
In 2012, the company had an average of 90 employees.
An associate company Edita Bobergs strengthened its position in the Swedish direct mail market in 2012. The company improved its offering with attractive new services that led to turnover growth and strengthened profitability.
“On the one hand we still have to accustom to the declining demand of traditional printed matters. On the other hand the development work for new services shows promising results and new interesting segments have evolved in the market”, Autio says.
To speed up this positive upturn the business area will continue to develop services and improve the sales.
